Board of Advisors

Members of the DS&C Board of Advisors provide the firm with a wide-range of senior level experience from across the State of California and offer insight and advice on the general conditions and issues facing California’s public sector and its economy.

Michael CrillyMichael Crilly started with the Jefferson Union High School District (San Mateo County) as a teacher in 1972. He worked with the District for 39 years, the last 17 of which he served as Superintendent. Under his leadership, the District passed a $30 million bond issue in 1995 and a $136.9 million issue in 2006. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Seton Medical Center in Daly City.
Dr. David GomezDr. David Gomez served as Superintendent in Santa Paula Union High School District (Ventura County). Under his leadership, the District passed a $39 million bond issue to remodel and rebuild science, technology, and athletic facilities. He received his PhD from U.C. Santa Barbara. David is currently President of the California Association of Latino School Administrators (CALSA) and will become President of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) in June 2012.
Phil PendleyPhil Pendley served for eight years as the Superintendent of Hemet Unified School District (Riverside County). He also served as Superintendent in the Chawanakee/Minarets District for eleven years prior to joining Hemet USD. He was responsible for the passage of two bond measures totaling over $200 million.
John RogersJohn Rogers was with the Atascadero Unified School District (San Luis Obispo County) for 14 years, serving as Superintendent for the past five years.  Last year, he oversaw the passage of a $117 million bond issue, the first ever passed by the District.
Marilou RyderDr. Marilou Ryder served as Superintendent of Central Unified School District (Fresno County) and Victor Valley Union HSD (San Bernardino County). While at Central USD, she oversaw the passage of Measure B, a $152 million general obligation bond that passed in November 2008. She is currently the owner of Ryder & Associates, an educational consulting company.
Dennis ScottDennis Scott served as Associate Superintendent of Business Services for the Kern High School District for twelve years.  He was actively involved in the creation and management of Golden Empire School Financing Authority that has issued over $100 million of revenue bonds on behalf of Kern HSD and the passage and implementation of Measure N, a $219 million general obligation bond passed by voters in November 2004.
